Terrific Kid!

SJCA monthly names two children from each Elementary Class that fits a characteristic word that was chosen by the faculty. The

March word was "friendly". Guess who got an award... McCrae did! We were so proud. I've uploaded a pic of him with our Headmaster and with me and Veda. He is developing into a very wise 4 year old.

What a Month!!

Oh my, how time has flown... We've done so much since my last post. I'm going to upload Christmas and New Years pics and also we had some Children of the World kids stay at our house.

Our children have grown a mile in a month it seems. They love to play together which is awesome. McCrae got a dragon castle that keeps him busy for days. That and his etch-o-sketch of course. Do yall remember those? I loved them.

Veda is TOTALLY in love with baby dolls. We change diapers all day and feed baby dolls. It's cute and sweet, but it gets old finding baby clothes over here, bottles over there, and so on. You get the picture.

Probably one of the most used gifts would have to be our trampoline! THEY LOVE IT!!! and so do we! It gets them outside and active. They could jump for days, and when we get on there, it really brings back our youth, except a flip still scares me and I used to do them all the time. What on earth happened to me?

Gearing up for Valentine's Day. It should be interesting, Mac is having his tonsils removed the 12th. I'll keep you posted. He says he's not looking forward to it because the nurse told him his mouth would STINK. ha ha ha.... If only he could smell his breath in the a.m. :)

Veda's First Hair Cut

Ok, so she's 2 1/2 but still she hasn't had a hair cut since she was born. Well, that's not totally true, we trimmed her mullet when she was 1 because it was getting so bad, just to even the back to the front. Here she's gotten a HUGE trim, and she loved it! She didn't like it so much when it was happening, but now, she loves it... Just precious!

Oh and don't forget about her SILLY brother, he was the entertainment during the cutting! Don't kill me all you "hair stylists," I did it myself! YIKES!!

Ok, so I've been extremely slack about blogging. I'm so sorry to those of you who keep up with us this way, I promise, I'll do better! This Halloween was by far our best yet! The kids LOVED trick or treating.

Veda was slow to start, she was shy and hid behind my leg and wouldn't really say "trick or treat" at any of the first few houses, but by house #4, she was on top of it. She was yellin "trick or treat" across the yard before we even got to the door. They had great manners, said thank you (with some reminding a time or two). I have pictures, but they're at home, so I'll have to upload them later. They really tell the WHOLE story.

McCrae was scooby doo, and he was a HUGE hit!! He got his costume from his cousin Hayes, it fit to a "t" and he was so excited about it! Everyone loved scooby and even gave him "scooby treats." He laughed and laughed about scooby treats.

Veda was a scarecrow. I got her costume from our consignment sale, which by the way is happening again in March. She was absolutley precious, but people got her confused with a witch... she had a black hat, but IT HAD PATCHWORK on it... surely that should have given it away right? Anyway, they loved it, and we had a BLAST taking them from house to house.

This will go down in history as the best Driggers Halloween YET!!

Soccer Ball Practice

Yes, you read it right, soccer ball. McCrae won't call it just Soccer, it has to have the word BALL behind it! He is the cutest thing EVER playing soccer. He played goalie most of the time last night, and he ROCKED at it!! He got one right in the belly (GUT) and stopped, looked at me and the coach, like should I cry or not... and he sucked it right up. I yelled to him, "GOOD JOB McCRAE, SHAKE IT OFF!" and he got up! He got right back to work!! We are so proud of him. Here are a few pics to show you all the day! Oh, can't forget to say how proud we are of his Daddy...he's a GREAT coach!

Mac's #1 cheerleader is Veda, she loves going to practice and watching (or playing with toys). She constantly is trying to run out and hug Daddy (coach) on the field. It is a precious site!

Yesterday at Veda's school she and her cousin Kaylen dressed alike. Aunt Carrie bought these precious dresses for them both, and they looked like little bits of heaven. We get comments on them looking a lot alike anyway, so it was perfect that they had matching dresses. Enjoy!

Last night, Kaylen spent the night with us, and we enjoyed getting to wake up with her this morning. I dressed Veda and Kaylen alike for church, they were precious. Kaylen doesn't get to wear a bow that often, so it was a treat and I documented it. It's so nice to have two girls the same age! I can't wait to watch them grown into young ladies.

Trip to Savannah

Well, we have missed and missed our friends in Savannah and couldn't wait another weekend to see them. So, last weekend we drove after work to see Aunt Na Na and Uncle Brian (Renae and Brian). We stayed Fri. night and into the day Sat. then came home for Sawyer's baby dedication. We had such a GREAT time in Savannah. When we got there we ate with uncle Brian and Aunt Na Na at a Mexican Restaurant. It was a blast, and Veda of course loved the chips... she's my chip girl. and McCrae, well seeing as he was born on cinco de mayo, and people call him Taco, it just seems fitting that he LOVES tacos! (soft of course). So, we loved that place.

Then Saturday, we went to Savannah Mall, it had a Carousel, Arcade, play area, and the chick fil-a cow. You would have thought we were at an amusement park. I think Uncle Brian and Aunt Na Na may have been worn out when we left. I know I was!

Here are a few pics that captured the weekend. Oh, Veda and Mac loved Cabella, their dog. She's a pointer, and was so friendly to them. Veda was feeding her gold fish! Too cute! Thank you Brian and Renae for being the hostesses with the mostess! We love yall!!

Veda's School Experience

I wrote last week about Mac's school experience, but haven't had a chance to let you in on Veda's. I'm posting a picture from this week, her first every piggie tails. They were out by the end of the day, and Her hair was like a huge wig. It was halarious by the time I go to her at the end of the day.

She loves her teachers, and is now fully potty trained. She has been easier in that aspect than her brother. She's the slowest eater in town, but she'll eat everything if you give her the time. She loves playing with all her new friends, and she just talks so much more now. I thought I would have one talker and one more reserved one, but I don't think so. I think both are talkers! GREAT!!! Payback.... God has a funny sense of humor! :)

First Day of K4

Today was McCrae's first day of K4. He has Mrs. Talley and LOVED it! I've posted a picture of he and his buddy Asher. They were sooo handsome. Mac came home and told us all about it. Especially of the fact that he hadn't gotten any insects taken away!

A Sad Heart

Today was exciting and sad for us! Veda, our baby girl went to her first day of daycare. She's two and has been with me all summer, and stayed with a friend that kept a few children until then. I was so worried about how she would handle the situation. McCrae is much different than her, he's very bubbley and just said bye mommy when I left him for the first time. Veda on the other hand is very clingy and reserved. She'd much rather be with me or Kevin than with other strangers.

So... we walked up to the door: Me, McCrae, and Veda. Mac was excited to be back where he was a year ago, but you could tell Veda was very unsure. I'd been telling her all weekend about her "new school" and she said she was ready, but it was a very reluctant "I ready Momma."

I held her for the first few minutes and Mac immediately ran over to Kaylen (their cousin who also started today). When I put her down she wanted "UP UP MOMMA" but I didn't pick her up, I gave her meow (her "security" charm) and she was ok, but didn't leave my side. So I told Holly that she'd probably have to pick her up for me to leave, and so she did, and me and Mac walked around the corner, and she SURVIVED!!! I couldn't believe it. All that worrying... UHHH I should have know God was hearing my prayer after prayer. God is soooo good, and He answers us when we cry to Him.

She was really well behaved they said and she even asked to go to the potty, which is a miracle in a new place. We are about 95% potty trained, and I just knew this was going to be a relapse, because of the new place, but NOPE she is GREAT!! When we got in the car, she was very talkative and reminded me a lot more of Mac and his talkativeness... She just jabbered on about her new friends and they played outside. I think she likes it. We're going to go again tomorrow... maybe take a nap by mid week there! YIKES!!

What have I learned in all of this?? It's true what they say, worrying does NOTHING good for you! Trust God, He will protect them! That is my constant prayer... protection over my children, and once again, He is delivering!!! Thank you Jesus!

Nashville Baby!

We had such an awesome week in Nashville! Me and the kids took a trip to see Aunt Krystal and Mrs. Kate (Clemson friend). It was everything we expected and then some.
Thank goodness Meemaw was willing to make the trip with us, she made it so much easier. One could drive and one could tend to the children. They were suprisingly GREAT travelers!! I must say, they made me VERY proud in the car! Meemaw was very patient and understanding throughout the entire trip! WE are all glad she was there.

When we got to Nville, we went to the zoo, the monkey treehouse, downtown, Mrs. Kate's house, had a picnic in Centenial Park and visited with Aunt Krystal. It was so awesome. The zoo was incredible. Much much better than Riverbank Zoo. We spent 4 1/2 hours there and Mrs. Kate met us there. We got to meet Banks and we LOVED him!! Veda kept kissing him, and McCrae was full of questions for Mrs. Kate. The neighborhoods that surround Nashville are absolutely GEORGOUS!!!

Kate's house was by far the most beautiful house I've seen in a long time! She and her husband Brent have done an awesome job of renovating an old house into something that most only dream of!! It was absolutely incredible. I need pics, because words do not do it justice! Her son Banks was so well behaved, he just smiled every day and was so happy all the time. It was awesome to get to sit and catch up with Kate although we missed her husband, I'm hoping Kevin and I can get our families together again very soon. You forget how much you have in common with and miss old friends!

I have pictures from Krystal's camera, but only a few, Kate needs to email me hers. She'd just gotten a new camera and it was the MAC DADDY of a camera. Took great pics, can't wait to get some back!

Aunt Krystal and Uncle Stu Baby have the cutest house. They're renting now, but it was nestled in the best neighborhood. Filled with hills (which Mac loved to ride on his scooter, especially on the way down the hill), mature landscaping, and from the outside some of the hugest houses I've ever laid eyes on. I mean Nashville is no joke! It is beautiful!

If only I had a digital camera again! Someone in the Bahamas is enjoying it, and I am losing precious moments with my children. This week we had Emmy and Hayes all week spending the day with us while Mimi worked, then she took all 4 to VBS! What a week it has been! So much fun with so many popsicles! I'm fresh out. We fed the donkeys apples every day, saw a hog or two get shot, swang on a swing from the tree, which by the way, the second day on it, Hayes broke it. He is getting too big! ha ha ha... I'm kidding, it was on it's last leg anyway, I hope he didn't get hurt too bad.

They just kept each other entertained all day! And nap time... oh the precious nap time. I slept just like them for 3 hours each day! ha ha ha.... Yes, I am lazy!

Tomorrow, we leave for Nashville, TN to see aunt Krystal and Kate (college friend). I can not wait, and McCrae and Veda are really excited too. They are really really excited about Meemaw (kevin's mom) going with us. Kevin has to work, so it's just us and the two pip squeeks. It should be an awesome trip! I haven't seen Kate in FOREVER and I'm soooo excited to be meeting her new addition and seeing where she lives. Today we stocked up on drinks and snacks for the road. Of course, we shopped while the oil was being changed in the car, and when we got back it still wasn't ready, so we ate some of the snacks then, but for the most part we have lots of snacks!

Where in the world?

Where in the world did June go? I mean I thought I was doing a good job blogging, until I looked back. I missed Krystal and Stewart's wedding and Pawley's Island. Two very big highlights of our summer. I have no pics of the wedding, although it was gorgeous, and I just saw the photographer's pictures, and WOW, they are GREAT!! If I can get some to share, I will. Mac was the ring bearer, and he LOVED it! Veda just watched in amazement, as she knew so many of the people walking down the isle.

Pawley's Island, well that is a summer in itself. For 25 years my family has been going to the same beach, and many years the same houses for a week at a time during the summer. It is seriously a very comfortable spot for our family! It makes us take deep breaths and really enjoy each second of each day. Not to mention that our children are at a PERFECT age to enjoy it all too. We had some of our closest friends visit us during the week, and get a glimpse of a Villeponteaux vacation. No T.V. (or very little, this year while we were away, lots happened. Michael Jackson died, Sanford was silly and so on. You could imagine how hard it was to keep the T.V. off) Only cards, pictionary, and lots of reading and talking. Oh, and the most important thing... eating.

We ate and ate and ate. Our husbands were so mad at all of the groceries we bought that we felt guilty if everything and I mean EVERYTHING didn't get eaten! Thus, we all came home 5 lbs heavier than when we left, but it was SO worth it!!

We of course took family photos, which gets harder and harder each year. We keep adding family members (aka having children) and if you have children, you know how difficult it is to get two children to smile and look in the same direction at the same time. It's impossible!!
We rented a paddle board which is similar to a surf board, but larger and more stable. We stood on it and paddled around it was so cool on the creek side. It was such hard work on the ocean side. My legs were like Jello when I finished with that thing. Mac rode on it with me in the creek. He loved it and at one point he laid down while I stood and paddled, it was too cool.

Anyone ever wondering where to go for an awesome family vacation? Pawley's Island will have my vote from now until forever! A tradition in this family that I hope never ends!! Enjoy these pics. there are a lot... sorry, too many good ones to not share!

Ok, so he's now 31 as of Friday, and to me, gets better looking by the year!!

Folly Beach Day

Yesterday was Kevin's families 4th of July celebration. I know it's not the 4th quite yet, but Folly Beach is SOOO crowded that day, that we decided to do it at the end of June and it was much less crowded.

Our kids loved it. I thought they would hesitate because they've been to the waterpark so much that the water was salty instead of fresh. They didn't skip a beat. Uncle Adam tried to make them take turns on the boogie board, but that was hard, Allie helped Mac and Veda cover Daddy up in sand, and we all laid around in the surf all day.They had a blast playing with Allie and Kaylen. Sawyer was too small to get wet, but next year, he'll be roarin ready to go.

We started the summer off with a bang! Aunt Krystal got married Saturday, and it was a humdinger of a wedding! So beautiful, and the party afterward was so fun for us. Mom and Dad came, took our kids home, so we got to watch the bride and groom be whisked away, which by the way NEVER happens anymore, because we have children that take us home by 8:30! No complaints! :)

Aunt Krystal was stunning, Uncle Stu Baby wasn't too bad himself, and the band, the food, the friends, it was a party to remember! Thank you the Miller's for a fantastic night. It was so fun that we stayed in a hotel room with Aunt Dee Dee and Uncle Adam, they had Sawyer too, and I didn't even wake up when he cried at 3A.M. Whew, I danced my legs off. The next day, I definitely felt it.

Then, Monday we visited Meemaw's house to watch Aunt Krystal and Uncle Stu Baby open presents, of course the kids were all about that. We caught them at the end, so there wasn't much left to open, but they got great stuff!

Tuesday, we hit the water park. Got there at 10 and left at 1, now that's my kind of water park. We ate lunch there, and took naps when we got home. However, their naps weren't as good as I'd hoped they would be.... maybe the sun, maybe overly tired, but I was OUT and they were restless! HA, go figure. Mac and Veda were precious going around and around the slide. up the stairs, down the slide. They would walk of course (or the lifeguard would get on them, mommy too!) and slide down right next to each other. All I had to do was watch and wait. It was the most precious thing I'd seen in a LONG time. I WISH I HAD A CAMERA!!! (someone in the Bahamas is using my digital now, and loving it I'm sure.)

Today, we relaxed, visited Granny, and talked all about her trip to Africa. Tomorrow, we head to the movie theatre, and then we'll probably go back to the water park again this week. We are living the summer up so far! Surely, this pace will not keep up. Otherwise, I'll need a vacation come August when school rolls back around! Ha ha ha!!

Birthday Girl!

This past week, Veda turned 2! We stayed at somerset for a week and had a little party under a picnic shelter for her. She got tons of fun gifts, we got her a play kitchen which she runs to every morning and plays on for hours every day. Her vocabulary in the past two weeks has increased so much. I feel like McCrae is really really wearing off on her now. She yells and screams just like he does.

Last night, granddaddy was over by the goats, across the branch, and we were on our porch. She yelled so loudly to him that he answered her. Wow, who knew Veda could be so loud! I definitely thought Mac had her beat. Maybe not!

I had their pictures made last weekend for both their birthdays, I'll upload them when I get them back from the photographer. For now, here are some of us at Somerset. Enjoy!! This was their first big swim of the season.

Piper is a daschund that Jeannie (the girl that kept Veda for 2 years) has. Piper is a puppy and Veda LOVES that dog to death. So, we made her a piper cake! It was perfect, she was so thrilled to have piper at her party!

Birthday Boy!!

Yesterday was Mac's 4th Birthday. He thought he was on cloud 9. We had a few family members over last night for burgers and cake, it wasn't anything big because I wanted his 5th birthday to be a big one.

He woke up yesterday morning to us singing happy birthday. He immediately had a huge smile on his face, we went down stairs and he opened his presents. He got from me and Kevin a tent to camp in, legos, magnetix, monster truck and a bouncey ball. He loved it all.

Then after family came over he got a spider man scooter, bug vacuum, bull dozer, xmen huge hand and man, clothes, dvd, book, and a few other things. It was so fun. I of course made a home made cake. It was a cowboy boot. He loves them, and the cake was great, at least I think it was.

Yesterday was a HUGE day for McCrae! It was his birthday and he had field day at the school. I'm including some pics from field day. He ran so hard, it was halarious! His class is precious, they're only 3 so it was really funny.

Flying High in the Sky

Wow, yesterday was a huge day for our little Mac. He woke up excited about flying and when the time actually came, I think he could have had enough energy for two little boys. Our friend Sam DeMaggio allowed Kevin, Mac and Uncle Adam to fly in a small 4 seater plane over Moncks Corner for about 30 min. Kevin got some awesome picture of our house, McCrae's school, and the ones of him with the head set on are AWESOME!!!

Then, when he got home, he had a new train set to play with. Given to us by the Bond family, Mac could barely get inside the door before he was putting it all together. He has been on cloud 9 for about 3 days. Not only did he get a train set, he and Veda got children's books. The good ones. Classic stories, and I went up stairs this morning before school, and Veda and Mac each had a book reading stories. I love books, and they do too! It was a beautiful sight.

New Addition

We had a new addition to our family yesterday. Kevin's sister Kayce and her husband Adam had a baby boy, Joshua Sawyer Bradshaw. 8lb 3oz, 20 1/2 inches long. He's precious in every way! Kayce and Adam are doing great. They get to come home tomorrow to their home of now 4.

Isn't it amazing how fast families grow. In a matter of 2 years your life can change from no children to two. That is crazy.

McCrae has been asking some serious questions lately about God and Jesus. It is the most pure and incredible thing to see what comes from the mouth of a child. He wants to know about Jesus in our hearts and how the Devil works.

Veda is following in every footstep he takes. I can not wait until summer to get to spend some good quality time with those two. Only have 24 days of school left now, and we'll be splashin in the water park. YAY!!!!

Believe it or not, the Easter Bunny stopped at the Driggers homestead. It was an exciting morning here! Books, beach chairs, elmos, and best of all... candy!! Veda is very familiar with the word candy now. She loves it and asks for it almost 24/7!

We had a great day. Church @ 9am, Papa came and ate lunch with the Villeponteaux's at 1pm, and oh goodness, we didn't have to eat supper after that. It was all so good, and filling. McCrae and Veda were still stuffed at supper time.

They got pop up books, elmo in an egg, Mac got 4 Tees, Veda got a beach chair, Ring pops, lifesaver gummies, the list goes on and on. It was so cute because the morning of, McCrae popped out of bed and said, "Did the Easter Bunny stop here?" It was classic.

Today is our last day off. Only 6 weeks to summer! Here are a few pics of the weekend. Enjoy!

Easter Break

So, it's the beginning of Easter Break, and it was so very needed! I have enjoyed so much these first two days with my children. The more time I spend with them, the more I realize how much I miss them everyday. They are both at GREAT ages. 2 and 4... well almost less than a month away, and they play together well, they eat well (most days), they are just halarious, and growing every day.
Today, Veda had her first pony tail in her hair. Itwas so funny. She still doesn't have a huge amount in the front, so it was like I pulled her mullet back, ha ha ha. She thought she was hot stuff. It stayed about 2 hours, then, she'd had enough. It was almost a side pony tail too, so that made the mullet pony even better
I'll try to do better about posting since I'm at home for a week. We'll see! don't hold your breath!

This weekend has been sooo nice! We've caught up on sleep, worked around the house, and most of all enjoyed being together. I took some pics of Veda and Mac this morning, still in our pj's. I cut Veda's hair Thurs. so she is now without her mullet! Praise the Lord! ha ha ha.

We are going snow skiing with our small group this weekend. I can not wait! Mac is going to ski/tube, and I'm looking forward to experiencing all of that with him!!

Man, I haven't updated in forever! Sorry. Happy Almost Valentine's Day. I have no pictures to post. I'll do that sometime soon.

Teaux Sisters Jumble sale went really well. We were suprised at how many people consigned and how many came to buy. It was awesome!! In the fall, we will definitely have to move to another location to accomodate the growth.

These days, Veda is a talking machine. She is saying full sentences. I want this and that. Where are you? I'm right here. Where is Gabe. She is so funny and sweet. She's got tons of new teeth all at once trying to come in, which means she can be fussy, but overall she is growing and progressing along very well.

McCrae was put on a commercial this past week. It will be aired in a week 10 times. They had him say "Come see us at Open House." It was for school... He was decked out that day. He and his sister are getting along very well lately. They're playing together without me in the room. It's so nice to finally get to cook supper without them under my feet every night.

Well, Santa definitely came to our house, and as you can see, Mac is super excited about his new addition. He named the black lab "Gabriel" or Gabe for short. Such a cute name, and he did it all by himself. We love him so much! They both got tons of stuff, and we went to see all of our family where we got lots of great food, and had such a wonderful time opening gifts and just loving each other in the same place at the same time. It was GREAT!!!

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I don't know why, but I've been so slack with mailing Christmas cards, as this point, IFFFFF you get one, it'll be happy new year. Don't hold your breath. I'm so slack. Sorry! I do love you all!!

Well, here we are, the Villeponteaux's, in all our GLORY!! Each year we gather to celebrate Christ's Birth. We get only the best food, the finest looking people we can find, and come together to exchange funny Christmas gifts under a not so desirable tree. It's the most fun! This is one of my favorite gatherings year after year. Everyone else keeps coming back too, so they must like it as much as we do. It's what we call a country christmas. Out under the stars, no heat, but this year we had two real bathrooms. We started with an outhouse. Who'd have thunk it, a real bathroom!! Ha ha ha. we had a blast!

Santa Claus

Last night Veda, McCrae and Kaylen all got to sit on Santa's lap. Boy was it an exciting time! McCrae was so very patient and waited and waited to be seen by Mr. Blue eyes, and when he did, they were unseparable. McCrae Loved him. Veda didn't really, and Kaylen didn't at all. We tricked Veda and Santa stood behind/next to Momma hoping she wouldn't see him for the picture. Well, she did, but he had candy, so it was all better.

Santa brought Mac just what he wanted, the wonder pets, and he thought that was the BEST thing ever! Veda got a musical tamborine, and Kaylen got a dog that you drag behind you. The dog was so cute, she just took off walking the dog, it was cute as pie!

Along with those pics are some around the house. Veda with the phone (her favorite toy) and reading books, which she LOVES to do constantly. She can't sit still for a full one though.

I know, we passed right by Thanksgiving, but we are so blessed and so thankful for all that the Lord continues to provide us. I couldn't keep blogging without sharing about our Thanksgiving Holiday and of course adding some pics.

We spent Thanksgiving at Mimi and Granddaddy's house in the country. It was so much fun. That house was packed with 40 hungry people; there was so much food that if they left hungry it was a suprise to me. We had a great meal and lots of good family visiting time. My kids got to play with cousins. Hayes and Emmy came early and played with Mac and Veda, and of course they absolutely LOVED that time. Anywhere Hayes and Emmy are, so Mac and Veda want to be! What great roll models.

Clemson Vs. Carolina

I know, I know, I've skipped Thanksgiving. I'm waiting on Heather, my sister, to download her pics. When we all went on our cruise, I lost my digital camera, thus, I am at the mercy of everyone's elses lens.

Anyway, I thought Veda and Mac were too cute decked out to the max with their daddy. They went to Meemaw and Poppa's to watch the game. I guess their cheers worked! She's the cutest cheerleader I've ever seen. Oh and Mac said he wanted her to cheer for him when he gets big enough to play! I thought that was precious.

One more thing, on the way to school this morning, we were talking about Aunt Krystals wedding; and of course that snowballed into another whole conversation about marriage. Mac is fascinated by it all. He said when he grows up he'll get married, and so will Veda. Then he asked if he could marry Kaylen (his cousin), I told him no, we don't marry our cousins. I told him it needed to be a friend. So, he suggested Asher! I guess I didn't explain that one. Then he suggested Allie (cousin again). It's all so interesting and fun to him!! If he only knew...

Veda over this week break has been changing so much. Saying new words. Yesterday she said water. She's so quiet compared to McCrae, he was so outspoken, so we have to make her talk by asking her what she wants and making her say it. It's soft and quiet, but it's there. When she wants her daddy however she can scream to the top of her lungs, " DADDAY!!!!" across the house. it's so funny. Both of them have a little southern twang to their words. Makes for interesting conversation! Hang tight until we get a new camera. We're looking now!

Saturday, Veda went to Cole's birthday party. He's a friend that Jeannie keeps with Veda. Anyway, this outfit was so cute, I had to share. She had Mary and a Little Lamb on her outfit. The party theme was farm. It was so precious. They had fun games and great food!!

I'm a little late getting these pictures up, but there are so many cute ones, it's hard to choose! Mac and Veda had an AWESOME time trick-or-treating. Mac was a cowboy, and LOVES his cowboy boots so much. He wants to wear them ever single day. Veda was the cutest butterfly ever!! The puffy outfit was soo cute. We went to about 10 houses and got WAY too much candy. They trick or treated with their cousins Allie and Kaylen. Their costumes were so precious. Kaylen was a lady bug, and Allie was minnie mouse.

Kevin and I had are having a blast with our children being at this stage. They play and miss each other when they aren't together. Good Times!!!

Fall Festival

I thought this was a cute pic I would add too. Mac has a tractor that up to this point he has been content riding himself, but he got generous friday and let Veda take a ride too, it was halarious. they must have gone around the house 7 times before veda was ready to get off!!

This weekend we had fall festival at our church. We all went to Santee Canal Park and had the best time. There was a sweet lady taking family pictures. These are a few of us! Mac and Veda loved the blow up obstacle course and jump castle. There was a pony and popcorn and cotton candy. Man, is that a child's dream or what?

Ok, so I went and got Mac today at lunch time to bring him into my classroom to eat with me. He was sitting in my chair next to my desk, just laid back eating his oatmeal creme pie when he said, "momma, I'm eating and laying down. Eating and laying is GREAT!" I thought that was a hoot. Today, I found Mac and Veda in their slippers and undies playing in the bathroom together. They had the toilet paper everywhere! They are too precious together, they're really catching on to the together thing, as you can see in most pics, they are a little too close for Veda, she's always grunting for him to back off! :) Brotherly sisterly love!!

Today Veda and I are keeping the shop for a friend. As soon as we got here, she put on a ton of necklaces, so I just had to get her picture. Then, she climbed into the rocking chair on the front porch, and looked too cute in her little fall outfit!! This weekend was such a blast for Me and Kevin. We got away, with his sisters on a 3 day Bahamas Cruise. It was the most fun!! As you can see, we rented scooters in Nassau, and just relaxed on Cococay. It definitely wasn't long enough, although I'm not sure we could have stood much longer without our children. We found out that we aren't "rock stars" anymore, and recovering from staying up until 3 A.M. is much harder than we thought. The time away was such a refresher, and being in the sun in October is a nice change of pace. It's so awesome because his sisters and their husbands (to be) all get along so well. It's definitely a great group to travel with. We enjoyed our weekend very much!!

So, as Mac continues to amaze us, Veda steps up to the plate and does the same thing. She is so smart! Doesn't every parent think that, but really, she can understand EVERY WORD that comes out of our mouth. She definitelydoesn't even have to say a word, because we know exactly what she's thinking by the grunt or pointing that she does for us. This is not good news. We need to start making her say words like juice and up. They should definitely be talking more than she is, McCrae, Kevin and I just know and understand her so well, it's hard to remember to make her talk.

In this video of Kaylen (Veda and Mac's cousin) and Veda have their what we call "meow" and frog. This is their "comfort" item. Anyway, Veda gives Kaylen her frog, then face plants into her meow and then they give sugars. It's all soo sweet. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!

The Pledge of Allegiance

This morning on the way to work, I realized my three year old could say the ENTIRE pledge of allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. It was AMAZING!!! He's was the leader in his class today, and I asked him what the leader did. He holds the flag as they say the pledge. Then I just asked if he knew it, and he spit it out like "no big deal." I almost wrecked the car!!! What on earth!! How did I not know that. On top of that, he says the entire Lord's Prayer, even the word trespasses... and all of the other hard words, that even sometimes I mess up!

Holy Cow, thank goodness at Meemaw's tonight, Aunt DeeDee brought her video camera. We caught it on tape, so here's Mac saying the pledge.

Maybe Aunt DeeDee will share Veda and Kaylen playing too, then I can share it with all of you! Enjoy.

Birthdays EVERYWHERE!!!

Today, we went to two first birthdays. They were lots of fun, but boy are we pooped! Our neice, Kaylen had her first bday today and 3pm, then our friends Jenny and Kirby had their daughter Jenna Kate's Party at 6pm. I'll have to upload pics at a later date. I know I'll be getting some via email soon. They were both so cute. Kaylen's was a frog themed party outside. It was hot! Mac's favorite part was the pinatta. Is that how you spell that? We played and played and ate cake and icecream that was great, then had to leave to venture off to Jenna Kate's party which was lollipop themed. All Mac wanted to do was eat on of those lollipops, which ended up being the "take home" gift, thank goodness, if not, we'd had to jack one from the party for Mr. Mac.

Veda thought both were SO Fun! Especially the icecream, which she can say as clear as day. She is too funny. Kevin says really loud and husky to her ALRIGHT!! and she yells it back in a deep husky voice. Halarious!

We got great news tonight too from Kayce and Adam (Sister and Brother-in-law). They're going to be parents AGAIN!! Baby #2 is on the way!!! We are so stoked that ours will have another playmate and Kaylen will have a baby brother or sister. Mac tried to call them tonight, he couldn't wait to ask what they were going to name it. He called, and said, "momma the phone isn't ringing it's going bomp bomp bomp." I laughed, it was busy! HA HA HA!! Oh well, I guess we'll have to find that out later.

Oh and sorry Krys, updating everyone. Our other sister is getting ready to be married in June. We are thrilled about her choice in "the one." Stew baby fits in just like he was meant to be here, and we can't wait to be apart of her big day. We'll keep you posted on everything. Tons is happening on this post eh??

Well, we don't have cable... I know, I know, that's unheard of, but it's true. So, we all ventured to Mimi and Granddaddy's to watch the game and Heather's family came too! It is always so much fun when we all get together. Very exciting and loud and energetic... Needless to say when we all leave, I think we ALL need a nap!

Here are a few pics from tonight. Mom and Dad (Mimi and Granddaddy) bought a Wii, and OMG, it is halarious.... we ALL Tried it out, the grandkids think it is the coolest thing!

What day is it?

Man, I feel like 20 days have passed, and no, I don't have any pictures to update. I have my school photos on the other camera, I'll download tomorrow. For some reason this weekend has flown by and I'm so not prepared for tomorrow! This school stuff is way harder than I ever thought it would be. Teachers REALLY have to love their job! Lucky for me, I do!!! This week was incredible. I absolutely love it, and should have been doing it for 6 years now. Oh well, let's not dwell on the past...

It makes for a really long day, but I absolutely love having Mac at school with me. He has come out of his shell, if that was possible. He's high fiving teachers, headmasters, it's crazy. He acts like he owns the place. He LOVES his teacher Mrs. Judy and Mrs. Crystal. He of course loves snack time, play outside time, lunch time, and nap time. Not too sure about the inbetween, but I'm sure with time, he'll love all of it. We got to eat lunch together on Wednesday, that was really nice and I hope to get to do it at least once per week.

Veda continues to be a ray of sunshine every single day. Her little smile and attitude is just so funny. She and Mac play together so well, and they kiss and hug, my prayer is that they're still kissing and hugging at 10 and 8 years old.... I hope this getting along thing lasts... She's started talking a little more. Today she said Allie (her cousins name). I've got to get a picture of her meow and Mac's bear, they could not function without those things. They only get them when they sleep, but oh my it is a sight to see both of them in the morning running around sucking their thumbs with that "comfort piece."

School Started

Man, school started, and that was all she wrote for the blogging! I have a ton to report.

The wedding was incredible! Of course I have no pictures for you, becuase I just told everyone else to email me some, and I haven't gotten any. So those of you reading this that were going to, please do send them. Shaili was the most beautiful bride, dripping in jewels and her husband Sameer rode to her family on a white horse. They danced in a "parade" all the way to meet her family as Sameer rode behind them, it was something I'd never seen before, and probably will never see again. Kevin and I were so honored to be apart of all of it! Thank you Shaili and Sameer. There was definitely zero skimping on anything. I mean the food was delicious. We got to sit down and eat two full meals, the ceremony was longer than usual and a little confusing for us, but I'm sure Shaili and Sameer knew exactly what they were doing... :) right!!

Then to the zoo. We did all of this in less than 24 hours. Ginny and David gave up their home to have us for a day and night, and we are so grateful. David's house was beautiful and they kept our children, it was just so nice. So, thank you again! Back to the zoo. Mac almost fell out when we saw all that there was to see. Penguins, Zebras, ELEPHANTS, Giraffes, the most incredible turtles you've ever seen. Kevin and I enjoyed it just as much as Mac did, I think. Veda loved it too, but it was her nap time, so she was def. not worrying about animals all that much, she was attached to her meow! I'm so glad we went early in the morning, because it quickly got hotter and hotter. We left around lunch and had a really long ride according to Mac (only 1-1/2 hours).

Then thursday I had my first students in class. It was a crazy day, and the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was talk, so Kevin just had to guess how my day was. Sorry to all of you who called... I just was so exhausted. Friday came, and it was soooo much better!!! I was more prepared and less nervous, so I think I'm really going to enjoy being in the classroom. I've got lots of work to do before monday. A whole lot more than the classroom goes into teaching that's for sure. I'm really not sure what I expected, but this is major hard work. Kudos to all of those teachers out there.... I am pooped!

A morning of firsts!

This morning we woke to almost 20 turkeys in our yard, just a gobbling. It was CRAZY!! I thought to myself, only in the country do you get to witness this. My children were amazed, and they just walked around the entire yard like they owned the place.

If Kevin were home, I'm sure he would have gone crazy! Today was my last full day with my children. Monday I start back to work at the school. We had a great lazy day...this weekend we're taking Mac and Veda to the zoo. I can't wait to report on how they react, they don't know. We're also going to an indian wedding. Groom comes in on a white horse and all. I'll give you a great report Monday!

This morning on the way to school, Mac talked of course the entire way. He was asking about God and who he made. He listed EVERYONE in our family and then asked about himself. He said momma, "How did God screw my neck on?" I almost died. What on earth do I say... I mean what a creative question. I told him God can do ANYTHING he wants to and when he decided he wanted to make a little boy... He did. Do you think that is a sufficient answer? ha ha ha... Oh well, for now, that's what he's got.

He also told Mrs. Stella yesterday (his sitter) that if she wanted a baby (because she kept calling him her baby, and he said No, I'm not a baby) she'd have to ask Joe (her husband) for one. She looked at him funny, kinda like how do you know that is where they come from. She said well, Joe would have to order us a baby, and he said yes, I know! Shew.... off the hook on that one. He's full of fun questions. I'll keep them coming as I hear them.

Veda is of course just taking it all in. She's become very friendly with Coral her all cloth baby doll... She especially loved the antique baby I have at home... and the porcelain one she tries to play with. Boy oh boy...she's going to be a mess too. This morning she tried to put my make-up on. ALREADY!!!!

This summer has been filled with fun days at home and outings. It's been so hot this week, we have been mostly at home. Mac is so creative, he wanted to be a dog, so, I made him a dog out of socks and eye liner. Veda on the other hand didn't like that too much. He would bark at her and she would scream in terror! It was so much fun :) Veda is a great eater, always gets her dessert, yesterday, it was chocolate ice cream on a stick, wow, did she love that!

Wow, this is too cool! Most of my friends have blogs, but we are newcomers to the idea, so here it goes. We are a family of four. McCrae is 3 and Veda is 14 months and they are so much fun. Kevin and I have married 6 years October 12 and the journey just keeps getting better and better. I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoy sharing it!
